Knee Injury Treatment in Indore

Common Knee Injuries in Athletes

Knees bear a lot of weight when we run, jump, turn and land, which is why they are one of the most injured joints among athletes. These problems can be diagnosed by the sports injury doctor in Indore who can guide the treatment.

  1. ACL Tear: They are frequently caused by sudden stops, twists, or poor landings. Symptoms are pop, swelling, and instability.
  1. Torn meniscus: Twisting movements can tear the cartilage cushion in the knee resulting in pain, catching or locking.
  1. MCL and LCL Ligaments at the sides of the knee. Sprains from direct blows or sideways forces.
  1. Jumper’s knee (Patellar tendinitis) A lot of jumping can inflame the tendon just below your kneecap, and cause pain in the front of your knee.
  1. Runner’s knee: Pain around the kneecap due to overuse, muscle imbalance, or poor biomechanics.
  1. Patella dislocation: The kneecap moves out of place and causes severe pain and swelling.
  1. Damage to the cartilage can lead to persistent pain and swelling.

Treatment:

The options range from rest and physiotherapy, to bracing and arthroscopic surgery for more serious injuries. Early diagnosis can mean easier treatment and quicker return to the sports.

Precautions

Strength training, flexibility work, adequate warm-up, correct technique and adequate rest can all reduce risk.

Do not “play through” knee pain. If your knee is still swollen, feels loose, or is uncomfortable, see a specialist to protect your knee and athletic future.
